About This Spot

Stepping into Yamabahçe feels like discovering a quiet nook of Istanbul tucked away amidst the bustling streets of London. The restaurant hums with a gentle energy—warm, inviting, and a little lively without ever being overwhelming. It’s a place where the pace slows just enough for you to settle in and savor more than just a meal, but a comforting, familiar atmosphere that echoes through the clink of tea glasses and the casual chatter of fellow diners.

Yamabahçe wears its Turkish roots with quiet pride. The scene is unpretentious yet spirited, an authentic escape that offers respite from the nearby shopping crowds. It’s the kind of spot where the kitchen’s flavors unfold slowly, like the steady warmth of Turkish tea poured tableside, or the soft, golden crust of freshly baked pide. You might find yourself drawn to the fresh halloumi sizzling gently on the pan or craving the rich, homely notes of a slow-cooked lamb dish. Each bite feels thoughtful, comforting, a little like home.

While the space tends to fill quickly, reflecting its popularity among locals and visitors alike, its casual ambiance never feels rushed. Conversations flow easily here, over bites of baklava sticky with honey or a smoothly layered cup of Turkish coffee, leaving room to savor the shared moments as much as the shared plates.

Despite the vibrant energy, there is a quiet consistency to the experience—one that invites repeat visits. Whether you’re nesting into a corner with a fresh mint tea or sitting at the bar watching the rhythm of the kitchen, Yamabahçe offers a subtle but distinct taste of authentic Turkish hospitality, carried in both food and feeling.

My go-to spot in London — I keep coming back! The food is always amazing and consistent, and the location couldn’t be better. The atmosphere is casual, warm, and authentically Turkish — it really feels like a little escape in the middle of London. I highly recommend the kiymali pide and the lahmacun — both are absolutely delicious. Their cocktails are so underrated — seriously some of the best I’ve had in the city. And the prices are so honest for the quality you get. On a sunny day, sitting outside is just perfect.

This is quite a busy place. The waiters are not very friendly, a bit dry. Nobody smiles. I didn't eat but my husband enjoyed the lahmacun. The tea wasn't flavorful like the turkish tea. The manti was good according to my niece. The chicken was tender but looked greasy IMO, but my sis in law liked it.

One of the restaurants I visit every time I’m in London. The location is excellent — close to Selfridges and Oxford Street. The restaurant is always busy, so you often have to wait a long time, especially if you’re a group of more than two. The prices are reasonable.

It’s a nice place, centrally located, and could be considered the best Turkish restaurant around. But how good is “the best,” really? During our last visit, the bread was stale and hard—it didn’t have its previous freshness. I think the food used to taste better in recent months or years. Still, it’s not bad now, except for the bread. Also, the chicken soup has changed; the previous recipe was better. My favorites are the special chicken casserole and the Develi pide (though it sometimes arrives slightly cold—if it were served hotter, it would be even better). It’s also a nice place for breakfast; however, the menemen isn’t quite the traditional one—it’s more like eggs with tomato paste. They could switch to a recipe closer to the Turkish original. Even so, it’s a place I’ll visit again. It’s abroad, and for a Turkish restaurant in a central location in England, I guess this is as good as it gets.

We tried the four-cheese pide and the develi pide. Both were fantastic. As a Turkish meal expert, I really enjoyed them. If you're a foreigner, it's like pizza, but BETTER. I highly recommend it! The restaurant is clean and the staff is polite. Sometimes there's a line out the door, but it's worth the wait.

Had a great experience at Yamabahçe in London. We ordered the spinach and feta pide with sesame — absolutely delicious and perfectly baked. The menemen was comforting and full of flavor. I had Turkish tea, and my sister ordered Turkish coffee — both were spot on and really completed the meal. Even though the restaurant was crowded and very busy, the service was outstanding. Our waitress was super nice, kind, and professional. She had a lovely smile and curly hair, and she helped us a lot throughout our visit. I’m so sorry I forgot her name, but she truly made the experience even better. Great food, warm hospitality, and a lively atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving authentic Turkish flavors in London ????????

Was waiting for selfridges to open and decided to have brunch here. Saw the middle eastern crowd here which attested to the quality. Everything we had was delicious. The mint and kayak tea was great. The smoked aubergine pide and menemen with Turkish bread was excellent. The fig and ricotta salad was very good as well. Prices are reasonable and service is good as well.

I come to this restaurant regularly, especially for the pide (Turkish flatbread), and they've added new dishes; the tas kebab (lamb stew) is definitely worth trying and homemade chilli sauce is amazing delicious!!!! Thank you!
